Whether it’s Majorca or MALLORCA HOLIDAY RENTALS on the Balearic Islands off the eastern coast of Spain are an ideal destination for everyone. The four largest Islands are Majorca or Mallorca, whichever way you spell it, Minorca, Ibiza and Formentera. The capital of the Balearics is Palma where half the inhabitants of Mallorca live. They speak officially either Catalan or Spanish and unofficially almost every other language under the sun.

Even though Palma is the capital you might be forgiven for thinking that Ibiza is the capital of booze and party time as it is the favourite haunt of the under 30s and anyone who thinks they can still party like they are under 30. Apart from the partying that goes on in some areas, there is actually plenty to do on the island. There is plenty to see historically and certainly the caves are popular with others. The famous train ride to Soller is a popular tourist trap and the cathedral Le Seu is another. Bellver Castle on the outskirts of Palma attracts many visitors and then of course all the white sandy beaches with the bluer than blue sea. This also means there is no end of fun that can be had from the tremendous amount of water sports available to the tourists. There are also plenty of fiestas around especially during the summer months and other things that you can do while there. But there is one thing I have yet to mention: one other thing that has become over the years internationally popular.

Mallorca is the place for yachts. Imagine sailing round the islands in the Balearic, not just sitting on a sandy beach but floating out at sea. The wind blowing through your hair, watching the local mammals following the wake of your yacht as you manoeuvre for better wind or maybe yours in powered, that's cheating, but each to their own. Imagine sailing in the area, waving to people on the beach and passing small coves where Mr and Mrs Average cannot get to. It is possible.

And the reason I mention this luxury way of enjoying a holiday is because every year Palma plays host to the internationally acclaimed "Salón Náutico Internacional de Palma". The 8th Palma boat show was held from the 30th April to the 8th May 2011. It’s a perfect moment to all would-be sailors and for those that already have a licence to sail. Palma is the perfect location for the International Boat show, showing some of the top yachts available to buying customers from anywhere in the world. Plus it’s an ideal place to trial a boat and to see a regatta for nine days. There’s the excitement of mariners everywhere and it’s where manufacturers can demonstrate anything from a kayak to a super yacht, with a thousand craft on land and a further 330 in the water.

The different yachts that are available range from bare boat to luxury cruisers, catamarans and sailing yachts. Do not worry if you are not familiar with controlling a yacht: out at sea skippers are optional extras. Unfortunately, they have a cost and for those with slightly less deep pockets it may be too expensive. You will never know unless you try. Whatever the time of year you can almost be assured of good weather. It’s just the right place to be when on your MALLORCA HOLIDAY RENTALS and a perfect environment for sea lovers everywhere.
