HOLIDAY RENTALS IN SPAIN. What better place to spend time recuperating from your hectic lifestyle than a country rich in history, culture and heritage. A lot of the Spanish culture is based on its Catholic faith, of which 80 to 90 percent of the population are a part of. As a result, a lot of local and national events are based on this religion. This country is full of natural beauty and manmade activities that you will never be short of something to keep you busy no matter what age you are.
If you would like something exciting and a little bit dangerous, there is always the running of the bulls. During the bullfighting season, Pamplona is the city to be in for the running with the bulls. Some people say this is a little fool hearty but the adrenalin rush you get will live with you for the rest of your life. People from all over the world come to Pamplona during July to participate in this sport. Officially this fiesta is celebrated in honour of San Fermin, the town’s saint. All you have got to do, if you insist on running with the bulls, is to walk the course first and find an escape route.
If you are up for a little snow skiing or mountaineering and have time away from your work place in late spring, then come to Andalucia. Pick out one of the fabulous ski resorts where you can ski all morning on some of the finest runs around. While in the afternoon, venture down to the seaside and soak up some of the beautifully warm Mediterranean sunshine.
During the football season, there is no question of where you need to be and that is Madrid, where you can see the Primera Liga Live. This sophisticated city is home to Real Madrid and their list of famous players who you will see is incomparable.
If you happen to be in-between large national events, find a cafe in whatever town, city or village you happen to be in. Have a coffee or the ever present glass of local wine while you watch the world pass by. This time will give you the opportunity to spend the day chatting with a few friends or even make some new ones. Whatever you do, those little cafes are a good place to sit back and soak up that special environment found only in Spain.
If you are in a party mood then find a fiesta being celebrated in one of the local villages. This will not be difficult as there are more fiestas celebrated in Spain than you could attend in a lifetime. Most fiestas celebrate a religious or political event but the one thing they all have in common is parades, parties, music, street dancing and fireworks displays. Just remember to bring your dancing shoes and get plenty of rest as these fiestas can last all night long.
If you are up for a fiesta of a different kind then venture over to the town of Lleida; here they celebrate the ever-humble snail. Mix 12,000 people with ten tons of snails while adding copious amounts of local wine then you have a party. There is live music to dance to and other local foods to sample but why when you have all those lovely snails?
